Over the years I have tried a few tutors and different languages on these platforms and maybe besides one tutor, it was a complete waste of time. My language skills did not improve, even for tutors that had good reviews, and even for trial lessons when they could have showed me so much, I have never learnt a thing from them. I took a trial French class where I am an absolute beginner and even through that one lesson he did not teach me anything, did another trial lesson for another language I am an advanced speaker of and the guy just wanted to chat with me b/c he wanted to know how life in America was. Did it work for you? A lot of tutors don't charge that much, but given the amount of time and effort I wasted, it was not worth my time or money.
