So I have the option to learn ASL through my local community college, but I want to know if it's just as effective to learn by myself online and use an italki tutor for conversation/immersion? I have the discipline to learn by myself so I don't really need the structure of a college class to stay motivated. I'm also aiming to just become somewhat conversational and not completely fluent.
