It took me ten years to get Spanish. It’s taken me a year to get Portuguese. It’s taken 12 for Russian to B1. I’m stubborn. I want to add German because I have so many business clients as Germans. Anyone else an absolute idiot w languages w a shit memory but still kept going and became highly functional multi lingual professionally? I’m an American raised monolingual by the way. All learning happened in my late 20s-30s. I’m 39 now.
If I don’t practice them every day I begin to forget quickly. So I just force myself to make time.
