Does people who study 3+ languages at the same time just procrastinate in a ”productive” way?

I’m sorry if this upsets people or if I’m ignorant, but what is the purpose of studying 3+ languages at the same time?

I barely get 2 at the same time, as reaching serious proficiancy in just one language is such an insane time commitment. In my mind it just seems like a way to avoid having to commit to one language after the honeymoon phase is over.
