So, I am a Konkani speaker who has been listening to Hindi for almost 21 years, and I have no problems understanding native speakers. However, I've never actually had a proper conversation in the language. Whenever I try to speak it, I get stuck and can't think of words. There's this awkward pause that makes everyone uncomfortable. Sometimes, I think of a Hindi sentence but don't say it because I know I will sound like a clown.
