Iv just been thinking about this quite a bit since I watch a lot of anime as a native english speaker, and I feel like I have barely picked up any Japanese. Also I am maybe A2 borderline B1 in Hindi but I feel like when I watch a hindi movie I don't learn anything new. I know that the best way in general to learn a language is by making it fun rather than a chore but I feel like my approach is wrong. So basically I would love to know if anyone here has successfully learned a language through mainly media exposure and how you did it .
