I’m studying a language on my own—it’s one that I’ve some past exposure to through self-study, tutors, and even classes, but I’m picking up at a basic level. I majored in a related language in college, and I’m currently taking classes for another, unrelated language.
I looked in the FAQs and didn’t find this specific topic, so I’m looking forward to your answers.
My question for people who self-studied: 1. How successful were you at self-study? What level did you reach? 2. What are some tips for maximizing your success? 3. What are some pitfalls, or things that you would do differently? 4. Did you ever reach a point where you felt that, in order to progress further, you would need a teacher?
