I speak Portuguese. I think the other Romance languages are really easy, especially Spanish. So much so that I think if you speak one of them and you know what you're doing, you can easily learn the others. Even French is ridiculously easy, despite the somewhat weird pronunciation.
In fact, I think this linguistic similarity is enough to let you bypass most of the effort that comes with learning a foreign language. And it feels really good to get at least the gist of the languages that when combined are spoken by over a billion people.
Honestly, a lot of the time they don't even feel like different languages, but rather weird versions of mine.
