Questions about Pashto letters

So I’m aware that Pashto does not have a ‘standard’ dialect in the same way a language like Arabic might. Nevertheless, the functional differences between ز/ځ/څ have been bugging the hell out of me.

Take a simple word like “mine”. I have seen Rahimullah Khan’s Introduction to Pushtu spell it زما. Then in a Coke Studio Pakistan song “Dilruba na Raazi”, it is spelled ځما. And then Raverty’s dictionary spells it څما. Both Khan’s book and Raverty don’t even contain the letter ځ.

Languages like Persian and Urdu (for the most part) tend to preserve spelling regardless of dialect (e.g. آسان - Tehrani’s would say ‘āsoon’ while Heratis might say ‘āsān’. But it’s still the same spelling with the same meaning). So this variance in Pashto spellings leaves me wondering if there is something which I am fundamentally missing.

Edit: Google’s Pashto translator is absolutely useless and also gives no standard answer.
