I would eventually learn both Arabic and Urdu, but Im not sure which to start with. One day I would like to work with refugees, and Arabic would be more helpful with that. BUT my mom's husband and his family are Pakistani and speak Urdu, and most of his family only speak Urdu. So I would have people I could theoretically practice with if I started with Urdu. On the other hand, there are many more classes available to learn Arabic. Is it easier to learn Arabic after Urdu or Urdu after Arabic?
Second question: Is there a dialect of Arabic that is most similar to Urdu?
