So I plan on taking elementary/introductory Japanese in the fall with my university, but I'd love to start studying it now, but I'm wondering if it's kinda redundant.
I already have down katakana/hiragana. I like using textbooks, and I know the course requires the genki textbook, so I was thinking of maybe getting another textbook to start with so I'm not just re-doing genki when I take the class.
I guess it's stupid to ask this, because you can never be too prepared. But is it a bad idea to start now? I guess I could focus on reading/writing now because I'll be able to practice speaking/listening in class.
