What is the consensus for the economic value (as an adult) of a 14 year-old learning Japanese (or Korean)?

Kid lives in US has US and EU Passports, speaks English (fluent), and very good French and German. Has been in Japan several times, liked it, but has no particular affinity for Japan. Kid has the personality to take on a project and carry it through.
