I’ve been using Anki to practice French vocabulary that I come across in books. Mostly it works well, but I’m have a hard time with words that have multiple synonyms or even meanings that are completely unrelated words. I’ve reached the point where repetition is not helping and would like some advice on whether there is a more effective way.
For example, these 3 words match on the word “to splash”, but then they have other meanings:
“Barboter”: to paddle, to splash, to wade; (slang) to pinch, to swipe
“Éclabousser”: to splash, to splatter, to smear
“Patauger”: to splash, to paddle about, to wade; to flounder
If the solution is outside Anki, that’s fine.
