Hello.
Has anyone ever thought about such a thing as "unlocking languages"? That is learning a language for 1 year or so just to be able to read it pretty well and have decent conversations and then after that period of time just just let go of the language and move on to the next one without maintaining it (or maintain it if you really enjoy it). I'm pretty sure a lot of people have already done something like that without necessarily labeling it as such.
