My partner is Gujarati, so I feel like I should learn some of the language. However, when we go to India, we often travel to other places (Delhi, Mumbai, Rajasthan etc) where he switches to Hindi.
If I were to learn an Indian language, which would you recommend as being the most useful? Obviously learning Gujarati would help with speaking to his friends and family, but Hindi would be more useful everywhere else in India.
It seems hard enough finding a good Hindi course for foreigners in India, let alone a Gujarati course! So does anyone have any suggestions? Or recommended courses for either language?
