With the World Cup happening at the time I’m writing this post, it’s almost inevitable to think of what might currently be the most heated war of words in English: the debate between calling the sport “football” instead of “soccer.” DW did a piece about this a while back that’s worth a watch: https://youtu.be/Ld5pfFrPBVE
