I’m learning Russian (English native) and am constantly frustrated by how badly my speaking and reading are because I so often need to use, or come across, words that I simply don’t know. I’ve tried learning frequency lists but haven’t noticed much of an effect. There just seems to be so much vocab and no real way to attain it (although maybe it’s worth noting that people around me studying European languages such as Spanish and French seem to have much less of a problem - their speaking is significantly better). Any suggestions would be massively appreciated because I’m really not sure what to do.
