What would be the affects of acquiring a language, being able to listen, read, and even write a little, without ever practicing speaking?
I'm still in the process of learning Japanese but I've realized that I will never use this language often. Im not moving to Japan nor do I know anybody who knows Japanese. I simply want to consume content. Speaking would only be a sort of extra goal for me.
How many others out there don't have a desire to output/speak? Would not learning to speak hinder my learning in any way?
