Which words in your TL have native speakers been surprised that you know?

Asking out of curiosity and in the hopes some interesting words might pop up! For me it's been ponent (speaker), festuc (pistachio) and nabiu (blueberry) in Catalan, remolacha (beetroot), adoquín (cobblestone) and frailecillo (puffin) in Spanish. I find it quite interesting because apart from the last two they all seem to me like pretty everyday terms, though I guess that varies from place to place.
