After Spanish what is the most common European language spoken and used in the USA?

So obviously Spanish is the most common foreign language in the US. But after it what is the most commonly used European language? Would it be French since it is used in Louisiana and near the Quebec border? Or would it be another language like German or Italian?

Personally, as an American who lives in a major city most speakers of other European languages I meet are either immigrants from Eastern Europe while those from Western Europe are expats and Tourists.
