For Croatian speakers/learners:
I sometimes get confused with the prepositions ‘u’ or ‘na’. I understand the general rule of thumb that preposition “u’ is used mainly for closed spaces, enclosed buildings, towns and countries. But there are irregularities I just cannot wrap my head around - for example we use ‘u’ for: “park, centar, planina, krevet, vrt, posjet, šetnja”. Then we use “na” for pošta, despite this being a closed space?
In knowing the correct prepositions, is this something you just learned over time? Are these just irregularities that require memorization, or are there any tips to make it easier?
