I’ve always been very impressed at how well European people learn English, as well as other European languages. They can always express themselves very well. It seems like in the US though we have such a fear of learning languages that not many (that I have come across anyway) achieve an extremely high level and usually are stuck with an intermediate level. These are my personal observations so I could very well be flawed in my viewpoint.
Anyone have any experiences in learning in both places?
