When studying foreign languages do you prefer writing by hand or typing with a phone/computer?

I'm trying to study Korean now and I feel like writing can be really time consuming compared to typing and feel that typing is way more practical since I plan on focusing on talking and communicating than test taking.
What's your approach? When you're studying for tests or just wanting to focus on communicating. And are some languages easier to type in than others?

I feel like Japanese is really simple, but Korean is almost impossible for me to type other than with my phone because of how much more letter based it is
