I am Russian and have been learning English for 8 years. I also speak conversational Ukrainian (no one taught me this). I can’t understand why I completely understand what I speak Ukrainian and I can’t make up any proposal and write, as well as understand what I just said and was it right or not ?! even being a translator with a dictionary and a book, I still won’t understand what I just said. but if you ask me something in Ukrainian, I will answer you (with partial errors in speech, but I will answer).
