Hi, I'm the creator of the Vocabe, a chatbot which helps in learning new words. Vocabe was build out of my own frustration with the traditional flashcard systems, which were very dry, ineffective and unengaging.

Here is how Vocabe is different:-

  1. For a word, you're exposed to different contexts like dictionary definition, synonyms, sentence usage, YouTube clips, news articles, quotes from some famous personalities. Reason for so many contexts is to build a deeper, instinctive understanding of a word.

  2. Once you've seen a word, Vocabe will start asking you different questions about that word at different intervals(spaced repetition, if you're familiar). Rather than the traditional approach where you are only asked about meaning of a word, Vocabe will in addition ask you questions related to:

  3. Pronunciation

  4. Sentence usage

  5. Fill in the blanks, given the meaning.

Once you've answered at least 5 contextual questions around the word, over a period of time, Vocabe will consider that you've mastered the word.

Vocabe takes away the burden of you having to remember, to remember a word. Just keep tapping away on the chat screen, vocabe will automatically prioritize and ask you questions of previously seen words.

  1. To make it more engaging, you level up and unlock achievements as you progress. All of this happens within the same chat screen.

  2. Vocabe has a collection of over 50,000 words. So, you can even use Vocabe just as a dictionary.

  3. There are ready made lists for different levels and exams, so you can just directly dive in.

TLDR: Vocabe is a smart and engaging chatbot, which takes a completely new approach to how you build your vocabulary. Just try it :)
