The majority of responses last week wanted an encore of a past prompt. However, I realized that this is the 52nd weekly writing prompt post - I've been doing these for exactly one year now, and I felt like the milestone ought to be marked! The poll is still up, and that encore (along with this week's result and any suggestions) will go up following the one year milestone posts (this week, and a sequel next week). So, without further ado...
Writing in your target language, of course, either as yourself or (for the escapists among us) as a favourite fictional character...write about this past year, for you.
Whether you're just starting out and giving it a go with "I got a dog. I learned Esperanto." or you've been learning a while and want to write a detailed mini-autobiography, or delve into a fictional world and tell us about your trip in a stolen TARDIS to find the Celestial Toymaker with your two doomed classmates - give it a go writing as much as you can!
AND A BONUS EXERCISE!
I thought it might be fun to do a little something extra for the occasion, a little extra practice for those who fancy it. Here's what to do:
- when you post your prompt response in your target language, also post a translation in your native language (maybe hidden behind a spoiler cut like so)
- translate other people's posts into your target language (using their native language version)
- if you don't want to do this part, don't post your native language translation (and if you are doing it, don't translate the ones without native language translations)
