After having studied French for over a year, it’s still regularly that I come across a new French word and think, “Oh! Just like in English.” Of course, a lot of those French words went into English and were repurposed to one extent or another, but it’s pretty often that you can make a logical connection between the two forms of the word.
How do you think attempting to speak English without any French influence would go?
