A different way to learn a language

Hello r/languagelearning!

I am part of a small team of engineers and researchers who are exploring new ways of learning languages. Currently, we are developing a concept mobile application called Babbly that teaches users a new language in an interactive way using only a phone camera. Here's a video where you can see the app in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__xichRmJ9w

The app supports 9 languages which include English, Spanish, Russian, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and our native Croatian. There are now over 400 objects that can be translated.

As the app was envisioned to help people learn new languages (only the vocabulary for now), we wanted to ask you guys here at r/languagelearning community for feedback. We welcome feedback in any form: upvotes or downvotes, questions, comments about usability, feature requests or anything else that comes to your mind.

The app was recently released into private beta testing on Android devices. If you want to partake in beta testing, please leave your e-mail in this form.

The Babbly team thanks you in advance for your feedback!
