Supplementing my classes

Hello!

I'm learning German at a language school so I get to know the grammar and do the speaking there. But I figured I should expand my vocabulary a bit because 3 hours per week are not enough to master a language. So, what kind of app should I use? Should I use more of a flashcard-style app like Anki or Memrise or gravitate towards apps that teach you practical sentences like Lingvist and Clozemaster?

Also, I will be taking a break from learning at the school for 2 months, how should I practice German to not get rusty?
