For background: I am completely new to the language. I currently live in Penang, Malaysia. And half of the population is Chinese. I had no idea how many people speak Mandarin. I have classmates who are all Chinese and they would speak Mandarin and i would left out. My goal is to be conversation fluent.
(btw English isn't my native language so there could be some grammatical errors)
