What is the easiest “hard” language to learn?

I’m sitting here in Finland listening to the locals speak (when they aren’t speaking impeccable English), and thinking to myself that Finnish sounds really difficult. But... what do I know? It may have easy grammar rules and syntax and actually not be that hard to learn and become proficient in.

So, that got me thinking. What is a language that most people think is “difficult” but in actuality is pretty easy for a native English speaker to learn?
