I love Russian language and culture. I’ll travel to Kiev soon. Although being gay doesn’t define me, I wonder if it makes sense to learn the language of a group of people that largely views me negatively because of who I am deep inside. Perhaps I’m biased and sure there are lots of accepting and cool people there but the anti-gay sentiment kind of demotivates me of learning more of this otherwise really interesting place.
