Has anymore experienced this? I was at a restaraunt today and asked a Mandarin speaking family:
"这个是什么" (what is this)
and they replied:
"oh, I think it's some kind of fish"
Is this just a gesture to be helpful? Did they think I thought they didn't speak English? Were they trying to tell me to screw off?
