This is an interesting video in French about how how good foreign language speakers tend to underestimate their skills, while beginners tend to overestimate them. As in so many other domains in life, the problem is that we don't know what we don't know.
As an aside, I recommend Cecille's channel in general for French learners. She speaks with tons of enthusiasm, quickly but clearly. I'm not sure why doesn't have more subscribers.
