Anyone have experience with Tandem?

I just created an account in tandem to practice my Spanish speaking skills. I heard this was a good app to practice conversational skills.

I was accepted almost immediately and started getting messages from Spanish speakers right off the bat. I’m talking 40 messages in 10 minutes.

Does anyone have experience using this app? Is it helpful? How do you get the most benefit out of it without feeling overwhelmed?
