This might not be the most suitable for this subreddit, but I could not find anything more suitable either. Does anyone know a resource, such as a book or a website, that lists idioms and metaphors with brief explanations on each one? Wikipedia has one page dedicated to metaphors, but it's actually very short all in all and it also contains a lot of well known examples that I mostly know of already. And I do not wish to read Shakespeare or Oscar Wilde just to this end.
The purpose here is just inspiration for lyrical writing. I love idioms and metaphors and both, especially the latter, are often used in lyrics.
