Learning French and Spanish simultaneously

I'm Canadian. I need to learn French for work and want to learn Spanish for pleasure. I plan on taking formal classes through part-time studies at a university. Being Canadian, I have very basic understanding of French. Not much though. I'd be high A1 on the cusp of A2. For Spanish I'm a complete beginner. I need to learn French at a more accelerated pace, but Spanish I can be more leisurely. Any tips for learning French and Spanish simultaneously? Per the wiki, it's probably best to wait till B1/B2 in one language, but I don't want to wait. Any tips to minimize confusion?
