How do you currently get practice speaking the language you're learning? How would you describe your ideal conversation partner?

I'm curious about how you guys are practicing having conversations currently, and how you'd describe your ideal conversation partner. For me, I think I'd prefer someone who is bilingual in my native tongue and the language I'm trying to learn. What are your thoughts?
