Looking words up in dictionary vs ignoring words we don't understand until we guess what they mean after we saw it in more sentences
I've heard that it's not a good idea to highlight everything we don't understand and just let it go until we understand it unless we saw the word so many times and we still have no idea what it means, so we finally check it out in the dictionary.
I'll partly agree on this because many people try to memorize all those words they note but in the end they still forgetting them. When we were kids we never looked up in the dictionary, we just saw a lot of television and talked with people and heard different words in different sentences until we were sure that they meant.
What's your opinion about it? Highlight everything you don't understand and learn it, or go with the flow and wait until you are sure you understand it better and if not 100% sure then look up in the dictionary?
