How do you read a book in a foreign language?

Hello! I'm planning on reading a book in Czech this summer, and a question came to my mind: what is the best method to read a book in a foreign language? Just read it without a dictionary (i.e. skipping all of the words you don't comprehend)? Read it with a dictionary, but don't write the words down? Read it and add all of the words in Anki? I will read all of your responses, and it'll be interesting to see how did you read a book in a foreign language for the first time.
