Source of Sample Sentences in Handbook of Japanese Verbs from Hattori Publishing

This seems like an interesting resource, but there is no mention made of where the example sentences are taken from. For example, it seems that they are taken from articles translated from English into Japanese rather than the other way around. Can anyone confirm this?
