So I was watching Archer last night with subtitles in my target language. I realized the translations made very little sense. I thought about it a little and I think it might be because Archer is at a ridiculously high level of English.
I mean, think about it: they talk super loud and super fast. Sometimes big words are thrown in ironically. There's just idiom everywhere and a lot of meaning comes from intonation and implication. They even throw obscure names in to get a quick joke. There's tons of really obscure cultural and sexual references too.
Anyone who isn't English native want to weigh in on this?
