I need help (ENGLISH)! Can you give me a sample letter agreement to postpone a cheque?

A letter that says, the payee and the payor agree to postpone the cheque (for three months) that the payee is supposed to receive/encash this month.

Please, English isn’t my first language. Just give me example, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
